The program is formed into 3 phases known as the Acclimation, Residential and Post Residential Phases. The Acclimation Phase: The acclimation phase is the first two weeks of the program. During this phase, candidates adjust to the program's physical, mental, and social discipline, and are evaluated for their suitability to continue into the residential phase.
The Residential Phase: Youth will have an opportunity to reside on our campus for 5 ½ months. During this time youth will focus on Academics, Service to Community, Vocational Studies and developing the structure and discipline required to be successful young adults. Upon completion of the Residential Phase, youth will graduate with an opportunity to earn scholarships and transition into the Post Residential Phase where they are placed in a suitable placement of choice.
The Post Residential Phase: Youth will progress to their placement with the support of a Mentor and assigned Case Manager for 12 months. Many of their placement options include, but are not limited to high school, vocational school, college, job, MPD Cadet Program, DC Fire Department and more.
